KIT-1 works with one Garage Door Opener but not with second

It works with our old Genie but not with the newer Chamberlain wired exactly the same to relay 2. Receiver lights up led’s labeled “2” and clicks but garage door doesn’t open. I’m using old phone wire. Is it possible that the wire is too thin for the newer opener?

I’m afraid the problem is because newer Chamberlain doors (such as those with yellow learn buttons) uses a coded signal for open/close.

So the old school simple 2-wire connection doesn’t work anymore.
