2 inches of range

With the antenna in, my range to code remote and/or activate relay is maybe 2 inches from the board itself. Not near the antenna.

Range is completely zero with antenna removed.

Using stock antenna.
Using power adapter.

Tried all 4 remotes and different location.

Possible defective unit?

Yes, it is possible.
If the receiver shows same short range in multiple locations, using different remotes, then it is likely defective.
